Press Conference: Release of Report on the “State of Human Rights in DC”
Please join D.C. Human Right’s People’s Movement for a press conference to release their report on the state of human rights in the District of Columbia.
The City Council of the District of Columbia declared Washington, DC a Human Rights City in 2008 after a campaign initiated by the American Friends Service Committee of DC Peace and Economic Justice Program and People’s Movement for Human Rights Education. On May 26, 2011, the Steering Committee of DC Human Rights People’s Movement created a process to develop an annual report on the human rights status of District residents.

Regional Day Labor Meeting – NDLON
Day Laborers and their allies from Virginia, Maryland, and DC will gather this Saturday February 11th from 11:00am-5:00pm to discuss common struggles and plan for enhanced cooperation and coalition building. DC’s Day Labor Union La Union de Trabajadores will be out in full force.
Meeting will be held at the Foundry Methodist Church, 1500 16th St NW.
