César Chávez Memorial Unveiled
Representatives of La Unión de Trabajadores attended an unveiling of the new César Chávez memorial at the Department of Labor on Monday the 26th in honor of the work of the Pioneers of the Farm Worker Movement. As Secretary Hilda Solis said, “They were hard-working people of the land who asked only for dignity and fair treatment, and today we are proud to give them the Department of Labor’s highest honor.”

Verizon workers march for good jobs in national day of solidarity!
Verizon workers all over the country rallied in a national day of action on March 22nd. That mo
ing, from 7am to 9am, DC Jobs with Justice joined with representatives of the AFL-CIO, the DC Metro Labor Council and CWA local 2108 at the Verizon worksite called the Chesapeake in Silver Spring, Maryland.
The worksite is located near route 29, which is a major commuter route.

Verizon has made tens of billions in profits and its top executives walked away with $238 million in the last four years. But when it comes to the 45,000 workers who make Verizon’s success possible, suddenly the company cries broke.
Thursday March 22nd, CWA, and IBEW workers and thousands of other will be rally around the country to support good jobs and the U.S. Call Center Worker and Consumer Protection Action.
