They Could Be Your Neighbors, Stand Up for Immigration Rights

rnThis month Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio marched 200 chained and shackled immigrants from a detention center to a segregated tent city in the desert surrounded by a recently installed electric fence. Arpaio has cut their access to healthcare and plans to force them to work in chain gangs if they “misbehave.” They could be your neighbors, stand in solidarity with immigrants in Arizona.rnrnWhile Arizona may be ground zero, immigrants’ rights are being attacked across the country. In the last year local government in Maryland and Virginia has begun to enforce federal immigration law, creating a tier of rights that have marginalized, dehumanized and terrorized entire communities. rnrnJoin us for a week of action in solidarity with immigrants in Arizona!rnrnSaturday, February 21st, 2:00pm-4:00pmrnForum “Turn the tide against racism, stand up for immigrant rights in your community.”rnPlymouth Congregation, UCC. 5301 North Capitol St NE.rnDownload the flyer or check out the press release.rnrnFor more info contact 202.974.8281 or rcastel@dclabor.org.
