On July 6th, members of faith groups, community groups, and labor unions gathered for a fundraiser celebrating the retirement of David Richardson. The celebration took place at the Hunan Dynasty Restaurant on Capitol Hill. DC JwJ Day Laborer Organizer, Arturo Griffiths was the emcee for the evening, and David Schlein, NEA and Chris Townsend, UE paid tribute to Dave. After their rousing and hilarious tributes, other guest stood to tell stories of their deep appreciation for Dave and all he has done for the District of Columbia labor community. Dave retired from his position as a Senior Economist at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Although he will no longer be working he will still be volunteering with many community groups.
