In 1962, Michael Harrington’s The Other America became a catalyst for the “War on Poverty”, leading to the later establishment of Medicare, Medicaid, and other social security benefits.
There will be a panel discussion featuring: Harold Meyerson, Washington Post columnist, DSA Vice Chair, and Heidi Hartmann, Feminist economist, founder of the Institute for Women’s Policy.
