DC Employment Justice Cente

The mission of the DC Employment Justice Center is to secure, protect, and promote workplace justice in the DC metropolitan area.

Constituencies: seniors, immigrants, youth, students, workers. We provide assistance to low-wage workers (up to 300% of the poverty line) in D.C., suburban Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

Tactics: organizing, education, service provision (legal services), advocacy and policy.

Current campaigns:
1. Legislative effort around paid sick and safe days.
2. Outreach to day laborers around wage and hour issues.

1. Published materials: Know Your Rights fact sheets on legal rights in the workplace.
2. Workshop: Employment rights.
