The next big date on the budget decision timeline is April 12th, when the Mayor takes questions from the Council on his proposed budget. We need your support to fill the hall and make our message heard. We are asking individuals and organizations to join us for a large creative action. We will call on City Council to be superheros and save our safety net, and we will celebrate the everyday heroes who strengthen and depend on safety net services.

On Tax Day, labor activists - led by UFCW Local 400, Local 1994 and Local 27 - will display a 3'x5' banner reading "Walmart Dodges Taxes. Now We're Paying For It" outside Metro Center while passing out flyers to area taxpaying commuters outlining retail giant Walmart's tax avoidance practices, including the many loopholes Walmart abuses in order to get out of paying millions in taxes.
